Well are ya?

Sue picks up the ringing phone on the 6th ring, wondering why her voice mail didn’t get it, “Hello?”

“Whatcha doin’?”

“I just got out of the shower.”

“So you’re nekkid?”

Sue laughs, “Yes, D, I’m naked. I have to go in a minute, I’m running late. I have a game tonight, remember?”

“Yeah, I remember. I jus’ wanted t’ call ya an’ tell ya t’ have a good game.”

Sue smiles, “Thank you, baby. Do you want me to call you when I’m home, or will that be too late?”

Didi pauses to consider the choices, “You can call me. I’ll pro’ly be up studyin’.”

Sue giggles, glad that it’s Didi and not her who has homework to worry about, “Alright, but don’t worry yourself over it. The final isn’t until next Thursday, right?”

“Yeah, but I’m worried ‘bout it, so I’ll jus’ put in a few hours every night I can.”

Sue checks the clock and frowns, “Baby, I really need to go. I’ll call you though, I promise, okay?”

“Yeah, okay.” Didi sounds disappointed, sad even. Sue picks up on this right away and almost says something to cheer her up, but before she can, Didi says, “Hey Sue?”

“Yes, D?”

Sue can hear the smile from thousands of miles away, “Are you still nekkid?”
